Rebranding for Wedding Florist Elowyn
Seasonal | Sustainable | Joyful | Rebrand
Cate is a British wedding florist dedicated to using seasonal, locally-grown blooms. Based in the Nottinghamshire countryside, she creates joyful, sustainable floral designs for weddings throughout the year. As her business evolved from gift bouquets to specialising in weddings, Cate felt it was time for her brand to reflect her new direction.
The Clients Brief
Cate’s previous branding no longer reflected her values, aesthetic, or clientele. Originally focused on gift bouquets, her brand identity no longer aligned with her bespoke wedding offerings. She wanted to appeal to nature-loving couples who value elegance, sustainability, and meaningful floral moments.
She needed:
-
A more luxurious, polished identity
-
A shift in perception—from affordable gifts to bespoke wedding expertise
-
A way to attract her ideal wedding clients
-
A new name and visual style that felt like her and her vision
“I changed direction from when I started and feel the brand doesn’t quite fit anymore.”
The Brand Vision
Cate envisioned a brand that felt:
-
Joyful yet sophisticated
-
Elegant yet accessible
-
Deeply rooted in nature and the changing seasons
-
Truly reflective of her personality and ideal clients
She loved the idea of subtle, hand-drawn elements—garden birds, natural textures, and colour palettes inspired by her seasonal floral arrangements. Most importantly, she wanted her branding to feel genuine and full of heart. To attract her dream clients, couples who cherish nature, connect with the seasons, and see flowers as a central part of their wedding story.
Elowyn’s dream clients?
Couples who care about nature, who feel connected to the seasons, and who see flowers as a joyful, central part of their wedding story.
One of the things I loved most about Cate’s floristry business was her deep-rooted passion and thoughtfulness that went beyond just creating pretty arrangements. Cate grows many of her own flowers and sources others from a small selection of trusted British growers. She hand-selects blooms not just for their beauty, but for their meaning, choosing seasonal flowers that reflect each couple and will be in bloom every year on their anniversary, gifting them a lasting, living reminder of their wedding day and their love.
“I am genuinely excited about flowers and love my job so much. I want clients to feel that in my brand.”
The Design Approach
Through an in-depth brand consultation, we explored Cate’s values, personal style, and creative direction.
We developed:
-
A refined new name: “Elowyn” — derived from Cornish, meaning elm tree. Feminine and grounded in nature, the name symbolises wisdom, nurturing, and strength.
-
Elegant but distinctive typography: Soft and flowing, with natural, organic curves echoing foliage and growth.
-
A seasonal, nature-inspired colour palette: Earthy neutrals with warm greens, terracottas, and gentle apricot tones that work beautifully year-round.
-
A thoughtful brand mark: Unique and symbolic, steering away from typical floral clichés.
-
Hand-drawn textures and illustrations: Seasonal flowers and natural motifs for digital and print use, adding a storytelling layer to the brand.
The Final Identity
Cate’s deep knowledge of seasonal florals and the heartfelt care she puts into every arrangement were central to the visual identity. Inspired by her garden views, her values, and her personal favourites, we created a brand rooted in meaning:
-
An elm leaf — tying back to the new name and symbolising wisdom and strength.
-
A wren — Cate’s favourite garden bird, a symbol of joy, hope, and happiness.
-
A hellebore — her favourite flower, often grown in her own garden and used in weddings; a symbol of tranquillity and protection.
The primary logo was supported by a suite of secondary marks for flexible use across signage, packaging, social media, and stationery, ensuring consistency and visual impact.
We also created a collection of hand-drawn seasonal flowers that Cate uses in her work, giving her a unique visual language across her website and printed materials.
Results
Cate was over the moon with her new brand identity. She said it finally felt like her, and she couldn’t wait to share it with her audience.
The rebrand positioned Cate confidently as a bespoke wedding florist rooted in seasonality, eco-conscious values, and elegant floral design. Feedback from her clients and fellow florists was glowing—they said it looked and felt “exactly like her”.
It’s been a joy to watch Cate step into her brand with confidence and clarity. Elowyn now reflects everything she offers: care, expertise, joy, and connection.
“I chose Simone to work with on a mini rebrand for my wedding floristry business. She took the time to really understand my business and what I wanted to gain from rebranding. Simone kept me updated with all the progress and was so patient with me changing things along the way. Her botanical-inspired designs were the perfect match for me, and her talent shone through in all the elements she produced. I am absolutely over the moon with the end product and have had really lovely feedback from my clients. I recommend Ellie and Liv’s design service one hundred per cent. Simone is a genuine, creative soul with a passion for her craft.”
